My Evangelion collection so far…

My Evangelion stuff

I haven’t been collecting for very long, but this is what I’ve amassed so far. If only money weren’t a factor..

In the back is Der Mond, an artbook by Evangelion character designer, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. It’s filled with his amazing designs for the show and also some of his other works like Nadia. In front of that is my collection of Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days which I’ve blogged about here. It’s interesting, but I don’t own a single book of the original manga series. Not yet anyway…

On the left is the Platinum edition DVD box-set. This was how I watched Evangelion for the first time – by buying the box-set. On the right is a 1/6 scale model, Soryu Asuka Langley in Summer Wear. It comes fully complete with interchangeable heads and arm so you can change the pose and face if you wish.

In front of those, is Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Unofficial Guide which does an ‘ok’ job of explaining everything that happened in the series that you may not have understood entirely. Personally, I’ve found the internet to be a better (and cheaper) option. Alongside the guide book is the movie, The End of Evangelion. If you’re an Eva fan, and you haven’t seen it, I suggest you go out and buy it yesterday.

Finally, I’ve got several gashapon figures I picked up from ebay.

  2. How much was the “Der Mond” artbook and the Platinum Thinpak all together?

  3. I honestly can’t remember how much the DVD set cost, but I believe they released another Platinum box-set (in a tin) afterwards, so it should be fairly cheap by now.

I bought Der Mond from Amazon.co.uk.
